About Andrew
I graduated with a BS in Computer Science from UC San Diego in 2013. I started at Amazon right away, staying there for about 5.5 years. Looking to broaden my experience, I joined Salesforce for 2 years before I decided it was time to try working at a startup, which is where I am now.
I have primarily worked with Java, but have spent the last 1.5 years in Go/Golang. I am familiar with many programming languages, platforms and concepts including: Javascript, C, Python, SQL/Postgres, CSS, Jquery, React, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Dependency Injection, and more.

I enjoy mentoring and have helped many students, interns and new grads as they learn programming and adapt to a real working environment. I consider myself less of a teacher and more of a mentor. By this I mean that I will generally not have "lesson plans", but I can be a valuable resource when you're finding a concept or codebase difficult to understand.
I also have been on both sides of the interviewing table more than 100 times, and would be happy to help there as well.
I am generally only able to mentor virtually, but if you are interested in in-person mentorship and are willing to travel, please message me and we can see if it is something we can work out.
