About Ashley
I understand what it feels like to struggle with English and how powerful it can be when someone believes in your potential. When I was younger, English wasn’t my strongest subject, but a teacher once saw something in me that I didn’t yet see in myself. That moment changed everything. It’s what inspired my journey to become an English educator who not only teaches but empowers and encourages people to find and strengthen their voices. Today, I’m a high school English Interventionist with two Master’s Degrees, one in Creative Writing and another in English. At one point, I was TEFL certified, and I began my teaching career by helping students and adults learn English as a new language. Those experiences taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of meeting learners exactly where they are. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to blend empathy, expertise, and creativity. My lessons are student-centered and goal-driven, designed to strengthen both academic writing and authentic expression. I believe in fostering confidence through connection by helping students find their voice, whether they’re tackling literary analysis, building essays, or exploring their own stories. As a lifelong writer of mystery fiction, I bring that same curiosity and attention to detail into my teaching. I pursued my second Master’s in English to deepen my understanding of classic and contemporary literature, so I could better support students as they navigate complex texts and diverse perspectives. No matter where you are on your learning journey, high school, college, or beyond, I’m here to guide you toward clarity, confidence, and a genuine love for language.

As a dual Master’s English educator and high school English Interventionist, I believe every learner has a story worth telling and the ability to express it with clarity, purpose, and confidence. My approach combines structured academic support with creative exploration to help students strengthen both their technical writing skills and their authentic voice.
Each lesson begins with connection and curiosity. I take time to understand a student’s goals, challenges, and learning style, then tailor instruction to meet those needs, whether that means breaking down complex literary analysis, improving grammar and organization, or guiding creative writing projects. Depending on a student's level, lessons often include interactive reading strategies, model texts, discussion-based interpretation, and scaffolded writing practice that builds from guided examples to independent mastery. If need be, prompts are also made to act as guides for students. When it comes to college-level curriculum, I have learned from dealing with various professors that discussions are a great way to clarify confusion or to stimulate thinking.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my balance of creativity and precision. With Master’s Degrees in both Creative Writing and English, I design lessons that not only prepare students for academic success but also awaken a genuine love of language. My background in intervention work allows me to meet learners exactly where they are, helping struggling students rebuild confidence while challenging advanced writers to deepen their critical thinking and stylistic range.
My sessions are ideal for high school and college students who want to strengthen their reading comprehension, academic writing, or creative expression. Whether you’re analyzing complex texts, preparing for college essays, or developing your own stories and arguments, I’ll guide you toward mastery, one meaningful lesson at a time.
