About VERONICA
Hi, I’m Veronica, a dedicated K–6 English Language Arts teacher with experience supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and student-centered. I use a combination of explicit instruction, guided practice, and gradual release to help students build confidence and independence. I break skills into clear, manageable steps and use modeling, questioning, and immediate feedback to ensure understanding. Lessons are designed to be engaging while also reinforcing foundational skills needed for academic success and EOG readiness.
A typical session begins with a short warm-up to activate prior knowledge, followed by focused instruction on a specific skill. Students then move into guided practice with support before applying the skill independently. Each lesson ends with a quick check for understanding so progress can be monitored and instruction adjusted as needed.
What sets me apart is my ability to meet students at their individual level, whether they need remediation or enrichment. I prioritize both academic growth and confidence-building, creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and capable of success.

Hi, I’m Veronica, an experienced K–6 English Language Arts teacher with a focus on helping students grow into confident readers and writers.
My teaching approach is student-centered and supportive. I use a mix of explicit instruction, guided practice, and hands-on engagement to meet students where they are. I break skills down into small, manageable steps and use modeling, questioning, and feedback to help students build understanding and independence over time. I also incorporate reading strategies, writing frameworks, and test-taking skills to support both daily learning and EOG readiness.
A typical lesson includes a quick warm-up (skill review or reading fluency), direct teaching of a target skill, guided practice with support, and independent practice where students apply what they’ve learned. I always end with a quick check for understanding to track progress and adjust instruction as needed.
What sets me apart is my experience working with a wide range of learners, including students who need extra reading support as well as those who are ready to be challenged further. I focus on building confidence just as much as academic skills, creating a safe space where students feel comfortable learning and making mistakes.
