About Amy

Not only have I been an English teacher and tutor, but I now work as an editor and writer for a media outlet! I love reading over articles to catch grammar mistakes, and I also enjoy writing my own articles.

My past as both a teacher and tutor speaks for itself! One of my ESOL students was accepted to a university to Korea for an exchange program where it was necessary to speak English and she now works as a translator after further developing her language skills.

Meanwhile, as a tutor, I was able to bring one of my students with dyslexia up from a second grade reading level to a seventh grade reading level in just eight months.

About the lesson

I am an experienced and fun English teacher who loves tutoring students who are struggling with reading and spelling. I excel at bringing up their reading comprehension and level by using phonics. I also work with students who have learning disabilities and dyslexia. My tutoring speciality is developing confidence in reading and bringing up their grade level by teaching phonics basics and finding ways to make reading fun.

I am also experienced ESOL teacher who has taught in Mexico to various ages of students— from young learners to adults in a professional setting. I can easily adapt to whatever need you have. My ESOL specialty is developing correct pronunciation and ease of conversation.
