About Toby
Hi! My name's Toby. I'm a Certified English Teacher with a lot of experience learning and teaching foreign languages. I have a passion for teaching in many different subjects, primarily English, Spanish, and music. I've been working teaching jobs formally since I was 18 years old, and teaching informally (mostly through volunteer work), since I was 16 years old. I'm an energetic young teacher with a passion for language, and my specialties include improving students' listening comprehension, accent reduction, vocabulary (formal and informal), and speaking/writing skills.

My approach to teaching is highly modular. I want to teach you what you want to learn, and how we address our lessons will reflect precisely what you wish to improve. I typically begin tutelage with a new student by determining their current ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language. Secondly, I like to establish a student's goals with English, and begin preparing lesson plans that will focus on helping them learn what they are most interested in. Whether you'd like to learn English as a past time for travel and culture, or to learn it for more formal settings such as business, I am more than capable of meeting your needs and helping you achieve your goals in my native language.

To be completely honest, I just enjoy teaching and learning, and it has always been important to me that people have the choice to learn regardless of how much money they have at their disposal. If you are unable to pay $10/hour, I am willing to work for less so that you are able to learn my native language. Secondarily, if you are able to pay more that $10/hour and you are willing to do so, I would certainly appreciate it. If you have any questions let me know and we can work something out!
