About Owen
I am a filmmaker who has made several award-nominated films including comedy, horror, drama and documentary with budgets ranging from £0 to £15,000. I am a graduate of London Film School, having previously studied Film Theory and Practice at Newcastle University where I made my first film. I love tutoring and I hope I can encourage people to get out and start making films!

I teach both filmmaking and film studies. I can guide you through the whole filmmaking process, from scriptwriting to editing, or focus in on one particular discipline, such as working with actors. I also teach film studies up to postgraduate level. I am an experienced tutor, having taught multiple subjects from GCSE level all the way to undergraduate and beyond. Each lesson is an hour long, online, and I can be flexible so we can find a time that best suits you.

Perfect! I found Owen's advice had real experience and skill behind it. He gives great outlining advice and concrete examples of what makes a film work, examples of showing and not telling, how to use contrast to build scenes. He's very good at following up with lesson propositions and showing up on time too, unlike other tutors on Superprof. I had a great first experience learning the basics, which motivated me to keep taking lessons. I would recommend Owen to anyone looking to work on topics related to film, scriptwriting, and directing.
