About Jessica
I am a Head of Psychology and have taught OCR GCSE Psychology and AQA A-Level Psychology for twelve years. I have an excellent track record of results. I have experience tutoring students of all abilities and have precise knowledge of the exam requirements to help students improve their marks and fulfil their potential. The last student I tutored was achieving A and B grades, but after being tutored went on to achieve an A* in her A-Level Psychology. I enjoy tutoring and how students can be surprised by their own abilities when they are given the right tools and support.

I believe it is crucial to break complex psychological concepts down into easier chunks, giving real-world examples where possible to make these tricky ideas seem clearer and more manageable. I make use of visual resources and give highly structured writing frames where necessary in order to give students the "language" they need to explain things articulately, as often students have a grasp of a concept but struggle to explain it verbally or in writing. Lessons are usually one hour long, and involve a mixture of discussion, tutor explanation, deconstructing exam questions, tutor-modelled answers and student writing - with feedback given.
