About Aashna
Hi, I’m Aashna! I know from personal experience that success in math is not about endless hours of frustration—it’s about learning the right strategies and building confidence. With a perfect math score on both the SAT (800) and PSAT (760), a 1520 SAT, a 1510 PSAT, recognition as a National Merit Finalist, and a full-ride National Merit Scholarship to UTD, I’ve proven that mastering these skills is achievable. As a Biology major and Computer Science minor in the Honors College, I maintained a 4.00 GPA and graduated summa cum laude, which reflects my commitment to academic excellence. I’ve worked as a tutor since high school, teaching both math and English to students from elementary through high school. Currently, I tutor in person, where I’ve gained valuable experience adapting to different learning styles and working with multiple students at once—while still making sure each one feels supported. My students appreciate that I explain concepts clearly, provide step-by-step strategies, and help them reach mastery without spending hours feeling stuck. Whether you’re preparing for the SAT, catching up in school, or aiming to get ahead, I’ll help you feel capable, motivated, and confident in your math journey. — Aashna

My Teaching Method and Techniques: As a tutor, I focus on building strong foundations in math while adapting my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and needs. I use clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and real-life examples to make abstract concepts easier to understand. I also make sure to fill in any gaps in each student's knowledge before beginning the lesson. I encourage active participation and provide strategies for tackling standardized test questions efficiently, especially for the SAT. A Typical Lesson Plan A typical session begins with a quick review of previous concepts to strengthen retention. Then we move into the day’s topic with guided examples, practice problems, and interactive discussions. Toward the end, I assign a few targeted practice questions and provide personalized feedback so students leave with clarity and confidence. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor What makes me different is my balance of patience and results-driven focus. I not only help students solve math problems but also teach them how to think critically and approach questions with confidence. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to build long-term problem-solving skills that students can apply in future academic and real-world challenges. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are for middle school, high school, and college-bound students who want to strengthen their math skills, prepare for the SAT, or need extra support with school coursework. Whether you’re struggling with the basics, aiming for a top SAT score, or looking to stay ahead in class, I will tailor lessons to your specific goals. — Aashna
