About Samantha

I’m Sam, a UK-qualified maths teacher with QTS and over 16 years of experience teaching in primary and secondary schools. I’m known for being calm, patient, and encouraging, and I really enjoy helping students who feel unsure or lacking confidence in maths.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing the moment when something finally clicks for a student and their confidence begins to grow. I believe that everyone can make progress in maths with the right support, clear explanations, and a positive learning environment.

Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve tutored students 1-to-1 for over 8 years, both online, including international learners, and face to face. I’ve also held senior leadership roles, including Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead, which has given me extensive experience supporting a wide range of learners. I’m professional, reliable, and committed to helping every student feel supported and capable.

About the lesson

My lessons are clear, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on building confidence and secure mathematical foundations. I am a UK-qualified teacher with QTS, and I teach maths from primary level through to GCSE, including GCSE resits.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are carefully tailored to each learner’s pace, needs, and goals. I use a step-by-step, mastery-based approach, combining visual explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and problem-solving so students feel confident working independently.

I teach the UK National Curriculum and am familiar with all GCSE exam boards, particularly AQA and Edexcel. Whether a student needs catch-up support, exam preparation, or help rebuilding confidence, my aim is to make maths feel manageable, positive, and achievable.

Lessons are well-structured and provide clear progress to parents as well as students.
