About Andrew
I take tutoring seriously and aim to provide lessons that are both professional and effective. My focus is on helping students build confidence and clarity in math by breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps. I ensure that each lesson is well-prepared, tailored to the student’s level, and aligned with the current syllabus and exam requirements.
Having gone through a rigorous academic path myself, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them efficiently. I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their problem-solving skills.
My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to ensure they gain lasting understanding and confidence in mathematics.

Hi, I’m Andrew, a Computer Science student from NUS with a strong passion for mathematics and problem-solving.
My teaching approach focuses on building a deep understanding first, then mastering exam techniques. Instead of memorising formulas, I guide students to understand the why behind each concept. I break down difficult topics into simple, step-by-step explanations and use examples that gradually increase in difficulty. I also emphasise common question patterns so students can recognise and solve problems efficiently during exams.
Lessons are structured but flexible, we usually start with reviewing concepts, followed by guided practice, and end with independent problem-solving to reinforce learning. I also adjust my pace based on the student’s level to ensure they are not overwhelmed.
I have a strong academic background in mathematics and experience helping peers understand challenging topics, especially in areas like algebra, calculus, and statistics. Being a current student, I’m very familiar with the latest syllabus and exam expectations.
My goal is simple: to help students gain confidence in math and see real improvement in both understanding and results.
