I am a certified Social Studies teacher with 5 years of formal teaching experience and additional years of experience with tutoring. I am also a certified Special Education teacher and am adept at working with students with learning challenges. I excel with assisting students to develop written arguments in essay format and in understanding and interpreting primary and secondary sources.

I tend to approach the discipline of History from a skills-based perspective, and therefore focus on developing key skills such as critical reading, written expression, and studying skills that are broadly applicable and useful to students well beyond one class.
