About Ildiko

I am a passionate and experienced primary teacher who has worked with children across a wide range of abilities, behaviours and cultural backgrounds. What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing a child make genuine progress, whatever their starting point.

I particularly enjoy working with children who may lack confidence or find learning challenging. I believe that when children experience success, their confidence grows – and with confidence comes greater engagement and a willingness to learn.

My approach is positive, encouraging and tailored to each individual child. I love using stories and children's natural imagination to bring learning to life, helping them engage with language in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

Above all, I believe every child can make measurable progress with the right support. One of the most rewarding moments for me is seeing a child's confidence grow until they can genuinely say, “I can do this!”

About the lesson

I am an experienced and qualified primary teacher with over 20 years of British and international teaching experience. My lessons are warm, engaging and carefully adapted to each child's individual needs, abilities and learning style.

At the heart of my teaching is a love of stories and storytelling. I believe stories are one of the most powerful ways to draw children into learning. A good story captures a child's imagination, creates curiosity and gives language meaning and purpose. For young children especially, stories are more than a tool for developing literacy – they nourish the imagination, encourage empathy and creativity, and help children develop a lifelong relationship with language and reading.

I use carefully chosen stories alongside phonics, reading, speaking, vocabulary, comprehension and creative writing activities. Rather than teaching these skills in isolation, I aim to connect them wherever possible, so that children understand why they are learning and can use their developing skills meaningfully.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and include a variety of interactive activities to keep younger learners motivated and focused. I particularly enjoy supporting children with early reading and phonics, literacy, comprehension, creative writing, general Primary English and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

My lessons are suitable for primary-aged children across a wide range of abilities, from those who need additional support or confidence to those who are ready for greater challenge. Above all, I want children to experience success. I create a positive environment where mistakes are a natural part of learning, curiosity is encouraged and children can recognise their own progress.

My goal is not simply to help children become better at English, but to help them enjoy language, discover the magic of stories and develop the confidence to become readers, thinkers and storytellers themselves.
