About Helen
I was a class teacher for over 20 years and moved into senior management for 10 years. I was lucky enough to be able to retire early and enjoy spending time with my family. I love the outdoors but my passion has always been to teach and I am now at the stage where I would happily teach on-line or privately as I know, through experience and especially through recent encounters with past pupils and staff that my approach to teaching made them want to learn.

My approach to teaching has always been one of positivity. Whether you are learning to read and write or you want to improve your skills, this should be an enjoyable experience where the learner feels supported and motivated to learn.My experience has taught me that a happy child or adult who is motivated will be more willing to learn and therefore I am happy to adapt my teaching style and lessons to suit the age , stage and ability of the learner.
