About Sam
Hello, I’m Sam, an experienced primary educator with over 10 years of supporting children aged 4–18. Throughout my career I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, including children with SEN and those who experience anxiety. I understand that every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual needs, helping them build confidence as well as academic skills.
I believe the best learning happens when children feel safe, valued and encouraged. Building positive relationships is at the heart of my teaching, and I take pride in creating engaging lessons that help children enjoy learning again. Whether your child needs support with the primary curriculum, wants to prepare for SATs, or simply needs someone to believe in them, I’m committed to helping them reach their full potential.

Every child learns differently, so my lessons are carefully tailored to suit each student’s needs, learning style and goals. I begin by getting to know the child, identifying their strengths, areas for development and interests, before creating personalised lessons that build both knowledge and confidence.
A typical lesson starts with a recap of previous learning to strengthen understanding, followed by engaging activities, practical tasks and educational games to keep learning enjoyable and interactive. I regularly check understanding throughout the lesson and adapt my teaching to ensure every child feels challenged, supported and successful. Lessons are available in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions and can be delivered online or in your home.
As a qualified Primary Teacher with over 10 years of experience, I have worked as a class teacher, teaching assistant and one-to-one intervention teacher across the primary age range, specialising in Key Stage 2. I also have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and children who experience anxiety. Before teaching, I coached football within academy programmes in the USA, developing my ability to motivate, inspire and build positive relationships with young people.
My teaching philosophy is simple: confident children become successful learners. I create a calm, patient and encouraging environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and celebrate their achievements. Parents often tell me their child enjoys learning again, has grown in confidence across all subjects and genuinely looks forward to our lessons. Whether your child needs support with the primary curriculum, SATs preparation or a confidence boost, my aim is to help them reach their full potential while enjoying the learning process.
