About Katie
I’m a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Education and a BSc in Psychology, offering expert tutoring for GCSE and A-Level Psychology students. I’m passionate about helping learners break down complex theories, build real exam confidence, and achieve genuine improvements in their grades—many of my students progress by up to three grades with focused support and a clear revision structure.
What I love most about teaching Psychology is helping students understand themselves and the world around them. I bring the subject to life beyond the textbook, showing how psychological theories and research connect to everyday experiences, behaviour, and real-world issues. This makes lessons more engaging, meaningful, and memorable, and helps students see the relevance of what they’re learning.
As a Qualified Executive Function Coach, I also support students with the skills that make a real difference to success: time management, organisation, focus, and effective revision—especially during busy exam periods. My background in Psychology, combined with three years of SEN experience, allows me to adapt every lesson to suit different learning styles and needs. I have a particular passion for supporting neurodiverse learners and those who benefit from extra structure, reassurance, and motivation.

My lessons are friendly, supportive, and built around you. No matter where you’re starting from, I aim to make Psychology feel clear, manageable, and genuinely interesting. I break down tricky theories and studies into simple steps and link them to real-life situations, so the subject truly makes sense and stays with you.
Every session is tailored to the student. We focus strongly on exam success, working through model answers, creating clear revision notes, and practising plenty of exam-style questions. Along the way, I also teach essential study skills like time management, organisation, and effective revision techniques—helping students grow into more confident, independent learners.
Whether we’re unpicking a challenging topic or building a long-term revision plan, my goal is always the same: to help students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress, while making Psychology as engaging, meaningful, and empowering as it can be.
