I believe that successful tutoring sessions are built on an ability to communicate and understand each other. I always like to start with getting to know you, so our first session will be more of a conversation about the materials you're working with and who you are as a person -- what hobbies do you have? What could you talk about for hours? Knowing what concepts excite you will help me to build sessions that draw on your strengths to tackle more challenging concepts.
Once we're into our regular sessions, you can send materials and questions you'd like to focus on ahead of time and I will use these in my pre-session prep. If that doesn't suit you or your questions change, don't worry! I tutor in a flexible format and always encourage questions.
I have tutored K-12 and undergraduate students. I have also supervised political science interns and researchers who were graduate students and experienced researchers.
