About Joshua
My name is Joshua, and I bring professional experience in education, behavioral support, and performance to every lesson. I have worked as a teacher and Registered Behavior Technician, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, remain patient, adapt instruction, and support students with different learning needs.
I take preparation and professionalism seriously. Each lesson is organized around the student’s goals, current skill level, and areas for growth. I create a supportive environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence while still being challenged to improve.
My background in acting also allows me to bring creativity, expression, and practical performance techniques into my teaching. Whether I am helping a young student strengthen academic skills or guiding a beginner through an acting exercise, I focus on clear instruction, respectful feedback, consistency, and meaningful progress.

My name is Joshua, and I offer tutoring in acting as well as core academic subjects for students in pre-K through sixth grade. My background as a teacher and Registered Behavior Technician has taught me how to adapt lessons to different learning styles, attention needs, confidence levels, and communication strengths.
My teaching approach is creative, structured, and student-centered. I break larger skills into clear, manageable steps and use demonstrations, guided practice, repetition, movement, storytelling, and positive feedback to help students understand and retain what they are learning. I want students to feel supported, but I also help them build independence instead of simply giving them the answers.
A typical academic lesson begins with a brief review and a clear goal for the session. I then model the skill, guide the student through practice, and gradually give them more independence. Depending on the student, I may incorporate games, acting exercises, visuals, real-life examples, or movement to make the material more engaging. We finish by reviewing what the student learned and identifying the next skill to strengthen.
Acting lessons may include character development, script analysis, emotional connection, memorization, audition preparation, confidence, improvisation, and making natural choices on camera or onstage. I help students understand what is happening in a scene rather than encouraging them to simply perform an emotion.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine education, behavioral support, and performance. I understand that difficulty with focus, confidence, communication, or processing does not mean a student is incapable. I adjust the lesson while continuing to hold clear and realistic expectations.
My lessons are designed for pre-K through sixth-grade students who need support in core subjects, including reading, writing, math, homework, study skills, and foundational learning. Acting lessons are available for beginners, young performers, students preparing for auditions, and anyone who wants to become more confident, expressive, and comfortable performing.
