About Amber
I taught for 11 years in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. I'm a passionate writer who has seen great success in helping students shift their mindset around writing; confidence is the secret ingredient! It helps us turn our unique ideas into powerful words.
I firmly believe that writing is a skill and that it's accessible to everyone. Like any other skill, we each learn it in our own way. Once we have the tools, we become unstoppable! Expressing ourselves through writing is not only empowering, it's a valuable life skill.
As someone with ADHD, I bring a toolbox of strategies that have helped me thrive as a writer and I love sharing them with others. My approach to teaching is nurturing and highly personalised. I love connecting with others so getting to know what makes each learner tick is at the heart of how I teach.

With 11 years of teaching experience across Years 1–8 in both New Zealand and the UK, I specialise in supporting students to become confident, capable writers.
I’ve taught a number of highly effective writing interventions, with many students making up to two years progress in just ten weeks. I’ve also helped students in the UK successfully prepare for their 11+ exams, with a focus on essay writing.
My lessons are tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners, including neurodiverse students, using evidence-based strategies and a warm, supportive approach. I pride myself on helping students feel successful, empowered and proud of their progress.
I'm currently based in France so time zones need to be considered when booking. I offer lessons during two main time slots: 7:30–8:30 pm NZ time (evening) and 6:00–8:00 am NZ time (morning). Lessons are highly individualised and I will always communicate with parents ahead of time to understand the needs of my learners and ensure we're set up for success.
