About Aimee
I have over 15 years of professional experience as a dancer and actor, earning my Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Columbia University in the City of New York's School of the Arts. I can teach classical ballet (Vagonava and Balanchine styles), Modern Dance (Graham, Limon, Horton), Broadway-style Jazz as well as choreography. As an acting teacher, I focus on honing a sincere connection between the voice and the body utilizing Krisin Linklater's vocal methods, and the ViewPoints as taught to me by Anne Bogart of the SITI Company.
Everything! I feel my work is a vocation, and I treat it as such in my teaching.

First, the student prepares a 1-2 minute monologue to bring to our first session. From there, I note for myself the student's strengths, and areas for improvement in alignment with the student's over all objectives. I will provide exercises that we will practice in class, with a focus on relaxation and attention. We will progress through a series of rhetorical speeches and monologues (dramatic and comedic) to further the expressive and intellectual range so that the student grows in his/her capacity to work independently on a wide range of material for a wide range of purposes.
