Wendy Ward opened the Ward Acting Studio in New York City in 1996 and quickly became one of the country's most renowned teachers of the Meisner Approach. For over 20 years, she has used the approach to transform actors into confident and competitive professionals.

Working online allows me to work with actors all over the world -- many of whom began their training with me in New York and many others who have heard of the Ward Acting Studio and want to train in my program but currently can't make it to America.
I get great satisfaction seeing actors I have trained on major TV shows, in films and on stage but what I really love is helping people who are not yet working actors gain the confidence to begin their acting training under professional standards and then make the jump to leaving their day jobs for acting careers.
I also think it's great that my online coaching business can provide creative outlets for stay at home moms, people who might be convalescing from an injury, actors with ADD, kids who cannot drive yet and lots of other folks who can't make it to my Studio or who don't do well in a class with other people.

Wendy Ward founded the Ward Acting Studio in New York City in 1996 and quickly established herself as one of the city’s foremost masters of the Meisner Approach. She has taught over 3,700 actors, directed over 75 productions and established studios in Philadelphia, Melbourne, Australia and Durham, North Carolina.
She received her BA in drama in 1981 from Duke University and continued her training at the National Theater Institute before studying in New York with Anna Deavere Smith, James Price and Vivian Matalon. In 1989, she became Associate Director of The Acting Studio, one of New York’s leading schools devoted to the work of Sanford Meisner. In 1996 she founded the Ward Acting Studio. In 2010, Australia granted Ms. Ward its Distinguished Talent Visa granting her permanent residency in Australia and allowing her to establish the Ward Acting Studio Melbourne where she taught and directed from 2011-2014. She has served on the faculty of University of the Arts in Philadelphia and given workshops in London, in Athens, in Los Angeles, and at St. Martin’s Youth Arts Centre, LaTrobe Student Theatre, and The Film and Television Studio International in Melbourne.
Ms. Ward is also Artistic Director of the Ward Theatre Company which she founded in 2005 in New York City as a performance vehicle for her finest graduates. The Company offers opportunities for her actors to work as an ensemble and become collaborators in the creation of original work presented in longer performance runs. In its first season, the Company received two nominations for Outstanding Acting from New York Innovative Theater Awards. The Ward Theatre Company is unique in that it is populated solely with actors who are Meisner trained and has included actors from as far away as Austria, Australia, Israel, Germany, Macedonia and The Netherlands. Earlier this year, the Company opened its new space in Durham where it received critical acclaim for its premiere productions of Jacuzzi and I Wish You A Boat. Skype & scene work sessions with Wendy? Yes! Even though my scene partner was in NYC with Wendy and I was 100 miles away. Each of us had prepared individually. As we began the scene, the computer seemed to disappear and it felt like I was in the same room with my scene partner relating emotionally, verbally and visually. Just doing the work . Wendy's coaching & insight just made the whole experience incredible. I've done several more sessions since then and it is worth every penny!
Wendy has taught me everything I know about Acting. Her teaching via Skype is great for practicing self-tests and keeping on track. I have used my Skype sessions to get quick, honest feedback on audition pieces and monologues; while also getting advice on acting challenges I might have. It is also very convenient because I can do it all from home at times that work around others things in my life.
