About Matthew
I love teaching kids how to act, either through improv, character scenes or monlogues. I love funny and having kids laugh, have fun and learning how to act at the same time is heaven for me. I have a good eye for raw talent that I see in my students, and love directing one-act plays.
I have been teaching acting classes in both public and private school settings for 12 years now in Texas and am currently teaching online actng classes and camps for a company called Outschool I have wonderful, supportive parents and enthusiastic students who love my online classes. I keep things fun and light. The majority of my class sessions are hands on, where after learning a few facts about acting, the kids are given the opportunity to act out scenes and experience acting first hand. I give feedback after the scenes to encourage them on to the next level.
I am Texas state certified to teach grades 1-6, am ESL certified and have a Masters in Education, emphasis in teaching reading and learning. I have directed several one-act plays and won first place for the best one-act play back in the early 2000's. My students have won several awards for their performances on stage.

The parents of my students decide on choosing my class based on the student's needsd, wants and interests. I set the price, let them know of my availability, what time zone I'm in and they sign up for my class. It's basically a joint decision of parent and child.
