About William
My acting class is rooted in the basic fundamentals and applies to all ages. My philoshpy is taken from one of my mentors, Seth Barrish, who at the Barrow Group in NYC, taught me that acting is easy, it is most exciting when it's spontaneous and that unplanned behavior is usually more interesting than planned behavior. All of this I believe, but I also feel you have to have a strong base to work off of first which allows you to relax into your work and helps you to create an atmosphere for spontaneity.
I LOVE seeing the growth in students. It's the one of the most gratifying things to experience as a teacher. Getting people to come out of their comfort zones(especially as actors) can be quite challenging. When you help them do that you help them realize thier full potential and bring them one step closer to reaching their acting goals.
I started teaching childrens musical theatre workshops at Wild Card Dance Company in Agoura Hills, CA.
I have been a professional actor for over 26 years. I have studied at American Acadmeny of Dramatic Arts, Michael Howard Studios and The Barrow Group in New York. I attained my Bachaelor's Degree in Theatre Arts Performance from The University of Nevada Las Vegas. I studied as a dancer for 8 years at Broadway Dance Center and New Dance Group in NYC where during my years there, I performed in national and European tours of West Side Story, A Chorus Line and Saturday Night Fever the musical. I am currently a company member of the award winning Anateus Theatre Company in Glendale, CA.

It all depends on the experience level of the student. I would first start by sitting down with the student(s) and discussing with them about his or her acting goals. Then I would talk about how we will go about acheiving those goals throughout the class. Because everyone works at a different level and pace, you have to allow for the actor to grow within their own comfort zone but at the same time give them challenges that are going to allow them to experience real growth in their work. When I work with a new student, especially one that has never acted before we start with the fundamentals such as voice and movement work, script analysis and the importance of being off book. All the time reminding them that acting is easy and fun!
I worked with children as young as 5, high school students and adults. All of varying skill levels.
Sit down and talk with that teacher first or observe one of his or her ongoing classes. Make sure it's a good fit for you and that your going to be comfortable working with that particular teacher. Make sure they on the same page as you as far as goals you want to acheive, how their particular chosen method is going you do that. There is no "one way" to approach acting, it's whatever works for you.
I recently directed a children's musical that I wrote as well. It was quite a thrill to see the children transform into the characters I had created. It was rewarding to see their talents grow beyond what I had expected!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
First ask what type of actor you want to be. A clasicaly trained one? A musical theatre performer? A comedic actress? This will help them choose the classes that's right for them and it will also help focus on their brand and the type of work they get.
Knowing your brand is extremely important as an actor. You need to know your type so you know what jobs to go for and in turn have a much better chance of booking the gig.
Once you have a clear understanding of your brand, it will help you choose the type of training your going to want to take.

Details
For private, one-on-one coachings, I usually charge $50 an hour.
For groups of students, it would depend on the size and age group of the class. I have done weeklong workshops for $500.
Ongoing classes would depend on how many students have signed up.
