About Nicholas
I work with beginning students to help them develop proper batting techniques, building self confidence and acheiving success.
I also work with intermediate (Little League) and advanced (High School/travel team) players to help them improve their stance, grip, swing, balance and weight shift.
Making contact is very important. If your swing is slow enough you can hit any pitch. In the beginning of development, the slower the swing, the more control you have over barrel location. But slow swings don't help you hit the ball very hard or very far. So you need bat speed as well. I help the youngest hitters build confidence by starting with slower bat speed then working their way up to a quicker stroke.
I am also a believer that development should be continued by the student between lessons.
Parents can help easily by providing the student with a small/safe location at home to practice what they have learned. I have a few recommendations on how to set up a tiny area of your back yard, basement or front porch to get your child to practice their swing for 5 minutes each day.
I love seeing a kid's smile after they hit a ball for the very first time. It is the beginning of a whole new world for them.
After that moment, we have a platform upon which to build confidence, consistency and a disciplined approach to the art of hitting a baseball.
I coached my own son from the time he was 2 until he reached High School. He is now in college.
I work with kids from early age up to high school, with a special emphasis on hitting.
Since 2007, I have been certified by N.A.Y.S. as a Baseball, Basketball and Football coach.
In Purcellville, VA I coached Little League baseball (3 years); Babe Ruth baseball (2 years); basketball (3 years) and football (2 years).
In Weehawken, NJ, I coached football (2 years) and baseball (1 year).

Upon our 1st meeting, I ask them to show me what they've learned up until the time we meet. I review their stance, grip and swing mechanics. I also observe their visual focus on the ball as it approaches.
