About Opal
Hey!
My name is Opal! I'm a kids dance teacher for many styles such as Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Stage Experience and more!
I have been profesionally trained in dance for my whole life starting from 18 months old. From the time I could walk, I already had my ballet shoes on!
I have participated in over 40 professional dance and theatre productions and am currently training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.
Throughout my many years of dance, I have aquired quite a few injuries, which led me to taking some time off, where I found my love for teaching! I teach classes ranging in age from 2-12 years old and beginner classes for adults! I am also available for private lessons!

Dance is one of my absolute passions! It allows you to express yourself in a physical way that compares to nothing else. The emotion and heart involved in every aspect of the craft is my favorite thing about it!

First, a get-to-know-you session!
We talk about our favorite dance styles, I ask them if there is anything specific they would like to learn, who they look up to, their favorite thing about dance, why they want to take lessons, etc.
And then a little assesment to see their skill level, potential, comprehension of choreography and attention span. Then we start our first lesson with the basics and techniques of whatever style we're learning. (And of course some fun choreography to keep them interested)
