About Chantel
I've been doing this for a few years now, teaching at summer camps with kids ages 5- 17. I focus on history and technique. I don't tell you what to do, I show you and guide you through it. Whatever you make is up to you. I'm an artist and I'm a willing guide to help people learn to express in many forms. In the end, its about the journey, not the destination and the feelings and knowledge you gained along the way.
My favorite part of teaching is the freedom of expression and teaching people to really own your art and yourself. I teach students to believe in their ability and to think outside of the box. It's not about getting it right, it's about loving the process and growing as an artist.
I was fortunate enough to start teaching young artist in summer camps, exposing them to the world of fine arts and empowering them with the skills and basic tools of the trade to become artist. Since, I've started to transition to adults, believing that you can become an artist at any age.
I am mostly self taught, 10 years of experience. I studied art history and training at the University of Central Florida, learning of the masters and different styles and applying those styles to my own work.

Typically we go through a little history lesson regarding the style we will learn, some notable or current artist that use it and we learn the technique together. Then from there I allow them the freedom to use the style and practice it with inspiration from the artist we reviewed. I don't like to make them do the work, but I show them how it's done and we work on the piece together. Usually by the end of our sessions we have a finished piece in that technique as style learned.
I've worked mostly with kids ages 5-17 and I am just now opening my teaching to adults.
I'd say, look for someone who matches your since of wonder and adventure in art. Remember the process of fun, and look for someone who has fun.
I did a sit down with a few lovely ladies. I showed them a design and I gave them tools for the splatter technique and blending. They had never really sat down to paint before, and when they finished? They were proud of the work they created. We created enchanting tree and day and night designs. One student did their own thing incorporating the techniques learned and they were beautiful pieces. I was very proud.

My whole life I told myself that “painting just isn’t my thing”, but with Zenani’s guidance, my first ever painting surpassed what I thought was possible for me!
She’s such a great teacher and makes painting fun! We learned blending and splatter technique, but what I liked the most was how she encourages you to be as creative as you like!
