About Tim
Hi! I have worked in education for 13 years and love helping young people learn! My philosophy is to create a fun, engaging environment that appropriately challenges and supports students. I have multiple years of experience as a classroom teacher, a Masters degree in eductation from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Boston College. I am a great communicator with flexible hours and I am eager to work with your student!
My mother was a special education teacher for over 20 years. After graduating college I felt moved to work with low-income students in the classroom since I believe education is what opens doors.
I have 2 years of classroom teaching experience. I have taught students in every single grade, 5-12. I specialize in English, reading, and social studies as well as SAT prep. My academic background is a BA in History from Boston College, and M.Ed. from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Boston College.

When meeting a new student, I like to spend our first hour together getting to know them personally and assessing their academic needs. I make every effort to ensure students feel comfortable and there are open lines of communication. If the student and/or the parent/guardian feel it's a good match, we can come up with a scheduling plan together for future sessions.
I have worked with students in grades 5-12 and also worked as a camp counselor (a number of years ago) for students in grades 3, 4 and 5. I have taught highly advanced students and also students who are doing some important, remedial work to get on track with their peers.
I love music and recently went to Tanglewood for the first time. I also played lots of sports growing up and I love to read!

Details
I charge $50 per hour of tutoring. I am available to tutor Monday - Friday 9am - 9pm and weekends by arrangement.
