About Katherine

I have a Masters' Degree in Education and I have been a teacher and school administrator for 10 years. For the past 20 years I have worked with students to write, revise, and edit high school and college level essays to great success. I am certified Special Education Pk-12, so I also have a lot of experience working with students with learning differences. I also have training and experience helping students write college entrance and scholarship essays. I can guide students through the application process, the FAFSA/TAFSA process, and help them during what can be a confusing and overwhelming process.

I love working with students that want to learn. There is a true partnership to teaching and I love partnering with students to extend their abilities. High school and college are such inmportant times for young adults to start forming the habits that will be with them for life. Helping someone form the habit of studying, hard work, and perseverance is one of my greatest passions.

About the lesson

The most important thing is to see where the student is first before beginning. I won't waste a student's time and money working with them on what they already know. By establishing a baseline of knowledge, we can work together to relearn skills from earlier grades and extend the learning beyond where the student is currently.
