About Rebecca
Hello, everyone! I'm Rebecca, and I am a fantasy author. I have been writing and editing my own novels and short stories as long as I can remember. In 2017, I won first place in a fiction-writing contest. I also wrote a prize-winning essay that got published in a college newspaper. I have gained so much knowledge from the hard work I put in, and I hope I can use it to help my students succeed in their own writing endeavors.
This past school year, I worked as a dance teacher. I learned a lot from my students about how to teach in a way that is uplifting and effective. I also wrote many of my own lesson plans tailored to fit the needs of my students. Customized lessons and exercises will form the basis of my tutoring services so that I can help my students achieve their goals as quickly and effectively as possible.
My tutoring service is a friendly, judgement-free zone. I care as much about you as a person as the job you want me to do. I strive to provide accurate and helpful feedback--positive as well as negative.
This past year, as I mentioned, I worked as a dance teacher. I remember watching my students perform on stage at the end of the year, overwhelmed with joy at the sight of how much they've grown as artists during the time I worked with them. They all seemed so happy with their own achievements as well. I was so happy that I had passed down my passion to them as well as my knowledge.
I have one year of teaching experience. Granted, I taught dance, but learning how to work with students in an effective and supportive way translates into any teaching or tutoring job, regardless of subject. I also learned how to write lesson plans during my college education.
I was a creative writing major for a year before I decided to change majors. In high school and college, outside of my standard English classes, I took three years of creative writing as electives in high school and college. I received excellent grades in all of those classes. Nowadays, I am mainly self-taught. I practice writing daily and seek out tips from reputable online sources.

Usually, I spend a little time getting to know them, their situation, and their strengths and weaknesses in learning and in the subject of English/writing. This takes place at the start of the first lesson. I tailor everything that comes afterward to that student based on what I learned. If multiple sessions are needed, I will create customized lesson plans. I treat each student as an individual. I always try to find what will help them--them, not previous students, not anyone else--best.

Details
I charge a standard of $20/hr, which I consider minimal (most of that goes to pay solely for quoting fees). If you want me to do any work outside of a session, such as proofreading, I will charge $5/hr for that (though at the moment I can't think of anything I can't do alongside a student, during a session).
