About Tracy
Hello!
My name is Tracy Osborne and I would love the opportunity to work with your child! I am passionate about teaching children to read and write. I offer a free assessment and consultation.
As an Orton-Gillingham Language Trained educator, I teach the Science of Reading. The Science of Reading is a research based, systematic, structured literacy approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling. I use diagnostics to create an individual learning plan to help your child read on, or above grade level with fluency and ease, as quickly as possible. My students often have measurable results within 8 to 12 hours of instruction. It is my joy and honor to watch a child’s confidence and self-esteem grow as they begin to experience success with one-on-one reading and writing tutoring online. I have a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade as well as English as a Second Language. I’ve had the unique experience of teaching English to Chinese students online. I’ve also taught adults getting their Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with the University of Phoenix Online.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is a multi-sensory, direct, and explicit approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling. I am very interactive with my virtual students in order to use as many of their senses as possible. I strive to make their online tutoring session fun and motivating! Tracy helped my daughter learn to ready when it became a battle between her and I. I am a strong reader but lacked breakthrough with my daughter. Tracy is highly skilled and patient and took my daughter from barely understanding phonics to being able to sound out words and understanding how consonants and vowels build words. She now reads well and on level for her age. I would (and have) 10/10 recommend Tracy to anyone who needs tutoring.
We've seen a HUGE improvement in her. Wow! We are so impressed with what you are doing with her. She wrote a letter to my mom all by herself. I was flabbergasted!!!! She's started texting me. She's attempting to read signs, packaging, and menus. She used to just ask us what it said. She was so frustrated with herself she refused to try to even sound words out, but you are motivating her! So much growth!! You are amazing!!
We were working on writing some paragraphs. He was trying to spell 'watching'. He spouted out a rule about what happens sometimes to the /a/ after a /w/. Just wanted to let you know he has learned so much from you!
This was the first time Alex had something legible to say about the content of his lesson which in itself was an object of great pride to him and some excitement for both of us.
