About Michael

When I got accepted into French IV Honors, I helped multiple students master the language, as I have. I almost made it into Advanced Placement, and even though I was qualified for it, writing essays was one of my weakest points, so I decided to stay in French V Honors.

When I lived in London from 2012 until 2014, I developed a new passion for foreign languages, particularly French and Latin. When I came back to America, I dedicated myself to studying French, and by the time I was in eleventh grade, I was in French IV Honors. Through these successes, I was able to translate an entire French Opera, Carmen, into English in the best way possible.

I will first start by finding out what the student knows and what they are covering in school. If I am going to start a whole new subject which they are not taught, I will begin with the basics.

I have worked with students who do not possess the strength in learning foreign languages, such as those in French AP who still spell the word hier with a y instead of an h.

My advise to a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise would be that he should look for a teacher that would do an in-depth study of French culture and literature as well as the basics.

Recently, I went to the Medieval Festival in New York, which takes place every year on October 29th. There, I learned much about the languages I have studied. During the festival, one of the languages spoken by the jousting instructors was varnacular Middle English, which not only has no contractions and much anachronism, but is also nothing like Modern English, containing words and letters that no longer exist, such as "eke." There were also many French words that made their way into Middle English, and in one corner of the Medieval festival I found a couple of Roman legionnaires. After my unsuccessful bout at jousting, I spoke with some of them in Latin, and through my mastery of the language, I learned that they were the incarnate of the infamous V Spanish Legion, which Julius Caesar used to defeat his rival, Sextus Pompeiius.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students need to think about what they need, why they need it, how they need it, and what should they do.

While I have not developed a standard pricing system for my lessons, the average payment would be at least 100 dollars per month, that is twenty-five dollars per week.
