About Malinda
I have over 35+ years of horse riding experience with emphasis in western [pleasure, trail riding, and games. My experience in competition includes the MN State 4H Horse Show, county fairs, Regional and Local 4-H Horse & Open Shows as well as many parades in West Central MN. Most recently at 3 Gems Shows in Western pleasure and game events. She co-founded the fastest growing 4H horse club in Cass County called Heartland Equestrians and has been a riding instructor since 2017. I love to work with all ages from the very young to older adults. My continuing education includes volunteering as a therapeutic riding assistant at NDSU, constant research and attending horsemanship clinics. I enjoy helping people and kids become more self-confident safe riders who can enjoy horses as a lifetime interest. I love teaching others how to interact and communicate with horses and read their non-verbal body language. I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to my horses!
I was asked to help a friend and it expanded from there. I was also a subtitute teacher for over 20 plus years.

Seeing lessons students be able to saddle, bridle and get a horse ready for riding all by themselves and go on to eventually own and care for their own horse.

Malinda is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explains horse care and riding techniques, including the reasons why things are done a certain way. Malinda is very friendly and enthusiastic. She engages well with both children and adults. She has helped me increase my riding skills from a nervous beginner to an intermediate level. I have thoroughly enjoyed my riding lessons with Malinda!
The instructor is an excellent teacher who works well with all ages of students. She provides a wealth of information and takes a personal interest in the learning progress of each of her students. I highly recommend the riding lessons at Red River Riding Academy.
Malinda has been great with my girls who are 6 & 4yrs old. The girls had never been around horses before and now they have confidence and are knowledgeable enough to know horse safety.
Our instructor Malinda is very professional and knowledgeable. Every session we are educated about different aspects involving the care of horses and riding techniques. The environment there is very safe and friendly. The lessons are a wonderful experience for our entire family.
