About Blue
The Blue Siytangco Taiji Kungfu Academy offers a complete martial arts program for all age groups and athletic abilities. Our curriculum provides comprehensive instruction in Chen Style Taijiquan, an ancient, battle tested system that develops the whole person. Along with learning the four combat elements of Ti (kicking & leg techniques), Da (striking and hand techniques), Shuai (grappling, wrestling, throwing), and Na (joint locking), students will also study weapons training, meditation, qigong, Chinese philosophy, culture, and martial ethics. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in light to full contact sparring, compete in national and international tournaments, and travel to China to visit and train in Chenjiagou, the ancestral home of Chen Style Taijiquan.
You may be thinking, “Isn’t taiji just for old people?” Absolutely NOT! Chen style taijiquan has something to offer EVERY age group. It can be the most gentle form of healing and exercise (Qigong) for the elderly, as well as a rigorous martial art (Kungfu) for the young. No matter the age one begins, it’s benefits can be seen!
