My favorite part of teaching is being part of someone's personal journey in acquiring more skills and knowledge.
I got my start teaching by way of confidence building exercises in taekwondo class around age 13. Each student was given 2-5 minutes to teach a certain technique. At first I was very scared but then immediately loved it.
Began training taekwondo at the age of 10. Earned my black belt at age 18 and my 2nd degree black belt at age 20. Was a head instructor at the Academy for Martial Arts (250 students) from age 19 - 24.
Became a certified instructor by East West Karate and have since trained extensively with world champion kickboxer Peter Cunningham and with the world renowned Gracie brothers Rener and Ryon Gracie.

I get to know the student by asking what their goals are.
I have worked with all types of students. From the very young age of 4 years old to the golden age of 65. I have worked with underprivileged and overprivileged children. I have also worked with children with all types of challenges (aspergers, autism spectrum, physical disabilities), and all types of personalities.
Find a teacher who is open minded and willing to answer questions about the techniques they are sharing.

Perfect! I have to say this was one of the best first classes I’ve ever taken with someone! I love how dense the experience was, we covered a lot and it’s a great deal. I am definitely excited to keep working on my techniques with Chris. Also, I felt super comfortable and safe, will recommend to everyone!

Literally, life changing. Chris taught me how to defend myself after getting jumped and robbed. I now feel confident that if anyone were to approach me off guard in the same situation, they will feel sorry for it.
I loved how accessible Chris was. He makes classes sooooo fun. I’ve never laughed so while sweating and wearing myself out. I also loved that as a relative beginner, I felt seen exactly where I was as WELL as where I Could grow to be, and worked really powerfully. Always challenged and encouraged. He’s my favorite teacher:)
His discipline and love for Martial arts. He's driven and passes that on to his students
Knowledgeable and patient with me. I haven't worked out in a long time so getting back into it was difficult but Chris pushed me just enough.
