About the lesson

I utilize a step-by-step approach that emphasizes developing a mutual trust between the student and I. First, I assess the current knowledge of the student through the use of standardized testing methods, and then use a directed approach at areas of difficulty. Through this, I attempt to change the way a student conceptualizes a problem, teaching tips and tricks to breakdown a problem and work through concepts.

John Hopkins Tutoring was absolutely phenomenal. I specifically struggled with my math classes, and was recommended Alex Rivera as a tutor. His expertise and professionalism truly surpassed my expectations, and was a main contributor to the success of my math classes. He was able to clearly explain complicated concepts that I quickly grasped, showing his mastery of the subject. Furthermore, he was able to understand the level and speed of my knowledge, and outlined perfectly fitting plans that created a nice teaching structure. Johns Hopkins Tutoring, specifically Alex Rivera, truly cares and is passionate about the success of their students. If you need a tutor that will give you outstanding results, he is the one!!

Alex is a fantastic tutor. My son was failing algebra at the beginning of his first year of high school and, shortly after working with Alex, was excelling in honors statistics and calculus.
