About Jay

Hi! My name is Jay, and over the past 9 years, I’ve worked with close to 100 students. I hold a B.S. in Statistics and Data Science, and I plan to pursue a career as a professor in the future. I tutor Math, English, Physics, and Statistics up to the college level—and I genuinely love what I do.

I primarily offer online tutoring because it saves time, gas, and ultimately makes my services more affordable for you. While some parents may be unsure about online sessions, I make sure students can follow along easily by sharing my iPad screen in real time as I work through problems. It’s interactive, visual, and just as effective as in-person tutoring—if not better.

Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about animals, basketball, esports, running, and connecting with people. I like to really get to know my students because it’s incredibly gratifying to see them go from dreading a subject like math to genuinely enjoying it after a few months. To help make that transformation happen, I take the time to learn what each student enjoys so I can incorporate relatable examples into lessons and make complex ideas easier to understand.

About the lesson

Mathematics lessons offered by Jay are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in La Mirada. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
