About Marla
I have taught math in a variety of settings since my college days over 25 years ago. I taught at a Junior High School for three years. However, the bulk of my math teaching has been with friends and family (specifically my own 4 children). Recently, I had a long term substitute assignment of 6th grade math. My degree is secondary education math and my focus at this time is middle school math (Pre Algebra and and Algebra) embracing "math growth mindset"
I love helping students one on one. I especially like to help students increase their confidence, this includes dismissing the notion of not having a "math brain". I am thrilled to incorporate number sense and build math confidence. This approach will result in students loving math.
I am a previous middle school math teacher and currently a home bound math instructor.
