About Kyle
Hello, I am Kyle and I have been a tutor for a little bit over a year and half. Currently, I am focused on SAT prep, particularly the math section. I guarantee that I can help you drastically improve your score.
All I need from you are the following:
•Desire and motivation to improve (most important)
•Basic arithmetic and computational skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
•At least one month to work with the student
•Willingness to meet multiple times a week if necessary
My methodology is fairly straightforward:
1.Go over a practice test with the student to find out what concepts they are struggling with.
2.Focus on those concepts. For example, if the student is struggling with factoring, we will take some time and practice just factoring.
3.Timed practice tests to measure their improvement. College Board provides 9 free practice tests that we can use. These are very close to what is on the actual test.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed.
Along with SAT prep, I have tutored Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Also, I have Bachelor’s degree in English, so I’m willing to help with the Writing and Language section; however, I would prefer to focus on the math section for the time being.
I am willing to do a free consultation meeting with any student to make sure I'm a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
What I enjoy most is seeing students' progress and get better over time.
I had always helped my friends with their math and English classes as a favor. I just decided that I might as well do it as a job since it was something I already liked to do.
I have my degree in English and I have been a technical writer for over ten years. I also have taken math classes all the way through Calculus 3, so I understand math very well. I have tutored for over a year and a half and have helped several students boost their SAT scores. In order to tutor on the other platforms that I am a part of, I passed several tests to show that I am qualified.

I spend the first session assessing where the student is with the material. I usually will go through a practice test with them to see what their strengths and weaknesses are. Once I figure out where they are struggling, we focus on that area. For example, if I see that they don't understand how to add and subtract fractions, we will spend some time just working on that.
I have worked with both high school students and college students. I am mostly working with high school students since my focus is on SAT prep.
Make sure the tutor not only knows the subject, but how to teach it. Make sure he or she knows exactly how to break down concepts and explain them in a way you can understand.
I have a student who I worked with several days a week on preparing for the SAT. We went through different practice tests for each session. We timed them to make sure he could get through them in the allotted time. He made tremendous improvement. I am excited to see how he scored on the real test.
