About Nick

I have a plethora of experience with elementary level students and a track record of proven success. I have a knack for helping elementary elementary students take that next step in academics! I am organized, professional and respond quickly. My teaching experience has equipped me with the knowledge and patience to help young scholars find success! I have a bachelors degree, a credential, and I am about 7 months away from a masters in education. I have over 6 years of experience working with scholars between the ages of 5 and 13.

Everyone loves something that is a combination of what they enjoy mixed with what they are good at! I love making a difference in peoples lives. I especially like making a difference in lives that still have so much life to live. I wish I would have had a tutor or role model to help me out when I was younger! I think tutors are very valuable.

I started working with kids as a summer job in college. I worked in summer camps and quickly realized I was very good at getting through to kids. I started looking for ways I could turn my passion and skills into a career and realized teaching is the way to go!

I teach first grade currently, but have a multitude of experience including both education and recreation. I have a knack for getting through to young scholars and figuring out ways to teach subjects to make it click. I have a bachelor's degree, a credential, and will be done with my masters in education in 2020.

About the lesson

First I get to know the student. If I can figure out what kind of person they are, I can figure out what kind of learner they are. We then figure out what our long term and short term goals are. Once we have a plan and committed to our goals, it is time to get to work!

I have worked with a multitude of students of all demographics. I have worked with SPED students, students with disabilities, gifted students, and everything in between. I currently work at a public charter school focused on closing the achievement gap in the African American community.
