About Carly
Hey there! My name is Carly and I'm super passionate about teaching voice lessons. I believe that anyone has the ability to sing well if they have a good teacher and spend lots of time practicing. I just graduated with a BFA in musical theatre from Abilene Christian university. I spent time in New York working with industry professionals on everything from auditioning to sing interpretation. My friends mother knew someone who needed a teacher. I didn't have too much experience teaching, but the student was willing to take a chance on me. I really fell in love with teaching, and learned so much about my own voice in the process.
I have a BFA in musical theatre from Abilene Christian University. While I was at ACU, I participated in the Tepper semester in NYC where I worked with industry professionals and well known musical theatre composers.

I always ask my students to pick a song that they really love to sing, and have it ready to sing for the first day of class. This tells me a lot about the good and bad habits that the student has accumulated over the years. It also tells me a lot about the kind of artist the student wants to be. After that, I'll begin to formulate exercises around what I think would best help the student.
I have worked with ages 8 - 30. I focus on students interested in modern and musical theatre music.
