About Joan
I have been painting in pastels, oils and watercolors for more than thirty years. I have a degree in design from F. I. T. and I have studied with leading artists at Scottsdale Artists' School and other venues. I have conducted classes for seniors in assisted living homes and given private lessons in my studio. My learning is ongoing through workshops and classes in many mediums. My paintings have won numerous awards and I am a member of Scottsdale Artist's League and Artizona Art Alliance. I show my work in many shows and have collectors throughout the US and the UK. My website is (concealed information)
I have a degree in design from F.I.T. and have taken numernous classes and workshops at Scottsdale Artists' School and other venues. I ran my own business teaching residents of assisted living homes how to paint and work with color. I have also taught private students in my studio.

We start by discussing his or her experience and what their art goals are. Do they want to paint for a hobby or achieve a level where they will be selling their art. We have a discussion based on their experience and then we paint, either from a photo of their choice or a still life setup. I give guidance along the way as the student progresses.
