Experienced tutor in Piano in Oakland, Melissa offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

Very knowledgeable and skilled. Makes an effort to make sure the kids actually know the material vs simply passing them to the next song. Firm but very fair teaching style and doesn't make my kids feel bad.

Melissa is a such a fun and experienced piano instructor coupled with a ton of enthusiasm. We have used her for about a few months and I can’t say enough good things about her.

First of all, she has lots of patience, which is a mandatory requirement when it comes to teaching young kids at such a young age group (6-10). My daughter always looks forward to having piano lessons with her.

Secondly, she’s a great pianist with enormous knowledge and experience. My daughter was able to play songs on her own after having a few lessons with her. I am musically illiterate and I was shocked in how quickly my daughter progressed in a matter of days.

Last but not the least, I truly enjoy how Melissa collaborates with my daughter on the songs they work on. It’s a wonderful music to my ears and my daughter also enjoys the collaboration.

With Melissa extensive knowledge, experience, patience, and fair pricing, it’s going to be really difficult to find another one like her. You cannot go wrong with her.

Great with getting our son motivated and interested in learning. Flexible and will work around our schedule.

What I like about Miss Melissa are: she consistently corrected my 5-year-old son’s hand/wrist position and sitting posture, which allows him to comfortably play the piano. She also plays duets with my son each time after my son learns a new song. The duets develops my son’s sense of timing when working with other artists. The duets also makes each song sound more beautiful, which inspires my son to play. Lastly, she explains in simple terms for a 5-year-old, and offers frequent encouragement.

She’s a wonderful teacher! Both my daughters love her and had great progress with her. She’s great with younger and older kids, always on time and has a great knowledge of music. We couldn’t ask for a better teacher.

Melissa gives very clear direction, is patient and generally easy to be around. She clearly has a expansive understanding for music and deep passion for her craft.
