Esther has been teaching vocals to my 6 year old daughter over the last 6 months. From what I observed, Miss Esther Tien is an extremely talented musician and a great teacher. I have no qualms in recommending her as a music teacher for any of my friends. I want to corroborate my endorsement under three aspects.

Musical Talent:
I am no expert to judge a musician's talent, but as a music enthusiast, I can say that Esther has a wonderful voice and can sing amazingly well. I have never been in attendance to any of her performances live, but when my daughter is in a zoom session with her, our entire household remains in utter silence in the hope of catching Esther's voice singing those Disney classics. Simply put, I would pay to hear her sing.

Teaching Skills:
Being a great musician doesn't necessarily mean being good at transferring that knowledge. One needs to have proper communication skills and a Creative imagination to impart one's knowledge to the students. Esther has both. She can recognize my daughter's strengths as well as shortcomings and always comes up with innovative ideas to get things right. For example, while teaching the song - "A Whole New World" from Aladdin, she found my daughter was finding it difficult to keep a sustained intensity when singing the word "World". She suggested her to imagine herself throwing a big ball with both hands into the air while singing that phrase and my daughter nailed it. There were many such instances I witnessed in these last 6 months showcasing her skills in making the students think outside the box and experience what they are singing.

And her classes are not just all about singing, but she also makes the student practice the techniques of voice modulation and breathing exercises with a rigorous warmup routine.

Interaction with Kids:
When it comes to teaching a six year old, ability to teach well alone is not a sufficient enough qualification. Unlike with adult students, it is not an easy task to keep the young kids stay focussed through the length of the class. They need to be constantly motivated, keeping the element of fun enough for the student to remain engaged while also monitoring the student's progress. Being liked by the student is very critical for the teacher in this regard. Esther has superabundant patience bordering limitless and she is ever so cheerful, spirited and happy. She is a very pleasant person and my daughter adores her. Needless to say, she is exceptionally good with small kids.

During one of her classes, my daughter was feeling distracted because of a song she heard on radio earlier in the day - "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys. The tune was so catchy, my daughter couldn't stay focussed on the current day lesson. Esther sensed it and promised to teach how to sing the first few lines of that song if my daughter could finish the regular task at hand. At the end of the class, she kept her promise by taking extra minutes teaching her how to sing that song and my daughter was over the moon.

Esther, while putting a sincere effort listening to my daughter, sometimes through her sidetracking blabbering, has the knack of bringing the class back on track.

In summary, Esther is a perfect package my daughter could find in a music teacher, and my daughter is very lucky in doing so.

My 9-yr old son is taking online voice lessons with Esther. She is an experienced teacher with passion in singing and patience working with kids.

We are very fortunate to have Esther as my daughter's voice teacher. She asks my daughter to sit in good posture when singing(Fantasitic!), use keyboard as a guidance to sing the melody accurately. She has a wide collection of Disney songs for kids to learn. I could see a big progress my daughter has made so far. And she is also willing to share her experience on learning singing and piano which benefits me as a parent to make decisons. Esther is an amazing teacher, and we are extremely happy with her class!

She is a amazing teacher, a wonderful women. We having a really good time when every time we were meet, she always pass on her own happiness to me. She is also a very methodical and meticulous teacher. Form relaxing muscles to breathing to pronunciation to singing, every small step is to protect my voice and make me a better singer. And she also pays attention to my hobbies. Every time she chooses a song, she presupposes what I like. She also pays attention to some things that I like. She not only taught me to sing, but also taught me some very practical music knowledge, and shared some related videos with me, so that I can understand and fall in love with music more deeply.
