About Mitchell
Welcome to Dogstar Studios! My name is Mitchell and I've studied music since I was a kid. Though my roots are in opera and musical theater, I specialize in contemporary genres like pop, rock, punk, metal, indie, folk, and theater. Whether you're brand new to singing or already a seasoned professional, I can take your voice where it's at and help you unlock something even more exciting. In addition to teaching vocals, I also offer coaching on live performance, studio vocal production, and auditions. I've been involved in the indie music industry for over 6 years now. With 3 original albums of music under my belt with millions of streams, 3 tours, and experience working with record labels and booking agents, I can gear our lessons towards helping you accomplish your on-stage goals as well!
Singing is an incredibly personal experience, so each person requires a different approach. My teaching style is not 'one size fits all', but rather a personalized approach that will help you identify and achieve your goals more efficiently. I think it's also more fun this way too! I've worked in multi-teacher studios before, and I've found that I can do a much better job for my students as a freelance teacher like I am at Dogstar.
Education background: I studied classical voice at The Boston Conservatory, composition at North Central College, and am Jeanie Lovetri's Somatic Voicework™ certified. I also have a background in gender affirming/trans voice.

I’ve taken lessons with Mitchell for six months and I cannot recommend him highly enough as a vocal instructor. He possess a broad wealth of technical knowledge and know exactly how to communicate it as efficiently and digestibly as possible. He helped me realize skills I only fantasized I was capable of. He’s also extremely personable, easy to reach out to with questions, and as professional as anyone could ask.
