About Anna
-Certified Swim Coach for Churchland Stingrays in VA, 2015-2016
-Certified Swim Instructor with Swim America, 2017-2018
-Triathlon Swim Instructor, 2018
I was a year-round swimmer for 11 years through USA swimming. After 10th grade, I pursued triathlon (swim, bike run) with Endorphin Triathlon Clun and had a lot of fun with that. I started coaching swimming when I was 13 years old as I helped out with a learn-to-swim program in my hometown in Virginia. I have had four years experience of paid work as a swim coach/instructor. Now that I attend school in Chattanooga, I am president of the school's triathlon club, as well as part of the women's varsity track team. I enjoy teaching swim lessons to people of all ages from basic to advanced, and swim team level.
Basic:
I always start by evaluating my students and making sure they feel safe in the water. If they aren't comfortable in the water, that becomes our first goal. They then learn how to put their face in the water, and progress to blowing bubbles, kicking, treading water, and freestyle swimming.
Advanced:
I am happy to help with technique work and training in all four strokes for swim team level students.
I enjoy seeing the progression of students, connecting with families, and teaching a life-saving skill.
