About Albany

I started working as a swim instructor for the Portland Aquatic Center in 2017. I really enjoyed working with the kids. I kept working as a swim instructor in 2018 and 2019.
I soon decided to teach lessons independently in May of 2021. I still have so much to learn.
I love working with children. I grew up as a competitive swimmer, but that is not what makes me qualified. I have three years of experience teaching and working with children. Each age group has a different mind set and I use that mindset to motivate them to learn and to pay attention.

I require an assessment before entering a child into a group lesson. I check their comfort in the water and ask them to: blow bubbles, submerge their head under water, float on their back, etc.
