About Julia
I Have been teaching all forms of yoga for 25 years including Basic Beginner Hatha , flowing Vinyasa, Prenatal , postpartum and mommy and me. I have experience with students of all ages , levels and body types .my classes are medium paced , relaxing , breath centered with an emphasis on alignment and gentle flow. I can come to you or provide a studio space. I teach weekly group classes and private lessons at sliding scale prices .
I grew up in a family of yoga practitioners and have been practicing yoga since I was a child. I love working with people , helping to guide them with yoga so they can develop strength , flexibility , grace and develop tools they need to calm and quiet the mind.
I have been practicing yoga sibfe I was a child and have over 25 years of experience instructing students of all levels and body types. I am certified through Sivananda Vendanta Center since 1997 and also have a certification through Leslie Kaminoff at the breathing prospect. I have expertise and a certification in prenatal yoga through Janice Clarfeild since 2004 and mommy -baby yoga through Om baby since 2005. I am also a birth and postpartum Doula certified through DONA international and an aspiring birth educator through CEA-MNY .i Have experience teaching yoga in rehabilitation centers and nursing homes ) chair yoga ) and kids yoga.

When working with a new student I approach it on a very individual basis. Assessing the way they move , alignment , breath and the reasons for coming to the yoga mat. For some it is a need to restore and relax and for others there are more physical reasons but I strive to integrate and build a lesson that is both invigorating and restorative

I think Julia is a great yoga teacher. She does varies poses from class to class and does some poses that are different from standard ones in most yoga classes. She is both energizing and calming and also makes hands on adjustments. At the end of class, she massages essential oil on your temples. Would definitely recommend her!
Attention to personal needs. Improvements to my technique from an intuitive standpoint and understanding.

Julia was my prenatal yoga teacher, doula and workshop leader. I love Julia’s ability to make you comfortable. She combines playfulness with extensive knowledge. She is strong (important for the doula assistance during labor) and I always felt supported. Her classes leave me feeling well rounded, confident, and inspired.
