About Katherine
Yoga and Meditation with me will be focused on holistic health concepts and yoga philosophy. I am a teacher of yoga and my intention is to help those who are hesitant to start a practice, as well as for those who are stuck in their existing path or practice.
I aim to help those who are stressed, anxious, depressed, and/or other physical and spiritual alignment. My passion and focus is with: restorative yoga, trauma based yoga, veteran yoga, and divine female energy yoga. I truly believe in the healing and growth that yoga provides for the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga has helped me and I want to share the practice and hold the space for those to soak in the benefits of a yogic holisitc health.
I grew up on California coast and found yoga in 2004. I joined the Marines in 2006 and continued my yoga practice while stationed in Japan. I graduated in 2018 from the University of Houston with a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Religious Studies where I took courses in yoga philosophy and spiritual health.
In 2019 I chose to earn my RYT certification and follow my dream of becoming a yoga teacher. Unfortunately, the pandemic has made it difficult to share the practice in yoga spaces. I have spent this time being certified in restorative yoga, veteran yoga project - mindful resilience, and Yoga philosophy. I am currently working towards certification in: Certified Meditation Instructor, Yoga 4 the Classroom, and Essential Oil Therapy.

My process for working with new students is to spend 30 mintues getting to know one another by discussing past injuries, future goals, and conducting a body assessment (looking for stress and imbalance). Lastly, I like to guide the new student in a short relaxation meditation.
