About Cory
I am a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher with several years of teaching Welsh Second Language across KS3 & KS4. Advanced DBS. I've worked closely with GCSE pupils of all abilities, helping them to grow in confidence and achieve their best. I pride myself on being calm, approachable, and supportive, while also setting high expectations so that every learner feels motivated to progress. Having mentored pupils with a wide range of needs, I understand how to adapt my approach to suit each individual. My goal is simple: to make Welsh more accessible and achievable, and to help pupils feel fully prepared for their exams and classes, as well as aligning with the Welsh Gov goal to hit a million speakers by 2050.

I offer supportive, one-to-one Welsh Second Language tuition for pupils in years 7-11 who are both beginning their secondary school journey and preparing for their GCSEs. My lessons are an hour long and tailored to each student's ability, with a calm and encouraging approach that celebrates progress every step of the way. Over the past four years, I've supported learners of all abilities to achieve success, with a 100% GCSE pass rate. I place great importance on building positive relationships, helping pupils grow in confidence while preparing them to reach their full potential. With experience in mentoring students with additional learning needs and managing challenging classroom behaviour, I adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles - always keeping the goal of progress at the heart of every lesson.

Mr Williams helped my son throughout his year 11 GCSE Welsh exams. Speaking and written. My son was struggling within the classroom setting due to numbers in the class and afraid to speak out, Mr Williams offered him support on a one to one basis, giving up his time after the working day and helped my son achieve an A, this after coming in to year 11 with a C in his speaking exam in year 10.
