About Haydn
As a tutor for GCSE and A-Level students on MyTutor for the past three years, I have a proven track record of helping students improve their confidence and grades in English literature.
My teaching approach focuses on helping students see the more profound meaning and purpose behind the texts they are studying rather than simply examining words on a page.
I am passionate about helping you understand and enjoy the works of authors, poets, and playwrights, and I strive to inspire my students in the same way my teachers and professors have inspired me.
I hold a first-class degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds. I am currently completing my MA degree in the same field, which I believe further establishes my legitimacy and professionalism as a tutor.

My approach to tutoring is tailored to the individual needs of each student, with an emphasis on building a solid understanding of literary analysis and critical thinking skills.
My lessons are suitable for students at all levels, whether you're nervous about your GCSEs or thinking about your undergraduate dissertation. I have been through it and understand that there are many ways to study English. This can include close reading specific excerpts of a text and finding its meaning or looking at a literary piece as a whole and analysing its themes.
In each lesson, I use a combination of lecture-style instruction and interactive discussions to guide students through the material. I also provide individualised feedback and exercises to help students develop their writing and analysis skills. Lessons are typically 1 hour in length but can be adjusted to suit the student's needs.
