About Brian
I am a medical student who achieved a 95th percentile score in the HPAT and have a strong understanding of what is required to perform at a high level in the exam. Having completed the HPAT myself and progressed through the medicine application process, I am familiar with both the challenges students face and the strategies that lead to success.
I also have extensive experience tutoring HPAT students, helping them improve through structured preparation, targeted feedback, and exam-focused techniques. Students I have worked with are now medical students themselves through consistent, guided practice.
I created HPATHelp.ie to provide a clear and structured approach to HPAT preparation based on real exam experience. My teaching focuses on the core skills tested in the exam, including logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and interpersonal understanding, with a strong emphasis on timing and exam strategy.
Lessons are professional, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on identifying weaknesses early and building a personalized plan to improve them efficiently. Students are encouraged to develop a consistent, repeatable approach to problem solving under timed conditions.
My aim is to help students maximize their HPAT score while building the confidence needed to perform at their best on exam day, whether they are starting out or aiming for a top percentile result.

Each lesson is tailored to the student's strengths and weaknesses. We work through realistic HPAT-style questions together, analyse mistakes, and build confidence through guided practice. Students receive clear explanations, personalised feedback, and practical advice on how to maximise their score.
Lessons typically last one hour, although longer sessions can be arranged when preparing for the exam.
